無言のまま
2人は結婚の挨拶をしに陽葵の実家を訪れていた。
両親と向き合って座ったまま、無言の時間がしばらく続き、陽葵はそろそろ絶えられなくなってきた。
その時、一夜が挨拶が遅くなって申し訳ありませんと謝り、陽葵を一生そばで支える覚悟を話すと、陽葵の父は無言で立ち上がり、その場から消えた。
陽葵は、お父さんが何を考えているのか全くわからず、どこへ行ってしまったんだろうと心配になった。
母は一夜に悪い人じゃないけど、口下手なところがあると説明した。
陽葵は一夜に父のことを謝ったが、一夜は特に気にしていない様子だった。
むしろ陽葵が、大事にされていることがよくわかった、と言ってくれたので安心した。
陽葵は久しぶりに会った父を見て、子供の頃のことを思い出した。
褒めてもらいたくて、お父さんの似顔絵を描いて見せたが、描いた紙が仕事の書類だったため怒られた。
本当に自分は大切にされているのか不安になった。
打ち解けた2人
しばらくすると父が戻ってきた。
父の手には陽葵の小さい時のアルバムがあった。
アルバムをみんなの前で開き、小さいときの話をし始めた。
赤ちゃんの時は本当に抱っこが大好きな子で、少しでも下すと泣き止まなかったらしい。
そのため父が、1日中抱っこした日もあったと母は懐かしそうに話した。
自分の記憶にはないことだったので、陽葵は驚いた。
初めて歩いた日、離乳食を食べた日、全て昨日のことのように話してくれた。
陽葵は、父がそんな細かいことまで覚えているなんて思っていなかったので、父からの愛をとても感じた。
その後、父と一夜はすっかり打ち解けた。
陽葵のいいところを言い合い、とても楽しそうだ。
ただ陽葵は恥ずかしそうにしている。
一夜は改めて父に挨拶した。
今後、陽葵のことをしっかり守っていくので、結婚させてください、と頭を下げた。
父も、今度、陽葵のことをお願いしますと頭を下げた。
帰り際、また2人で来なさいと少し微笑んだ父の顔が見れて、2人は安心した。
特別な時間
家に帰ろうとしたが、一夜が今日はホテルに泊まらないかと提案してきた。
ホテルに着くとそこはスイートルーム。
部屋から見える夜景が、あまりにも綺麗で陽葵は興奮したが、この場所にいる一夜がもっと美しくて、何枚もポーズを変えて写真を撮った。
2人はそのまま何度も抱き合い朝まで過ごしたのだった。
