恋する準備
二ノ宮からもらった菫のイヤリングを見つめながら、名前を呼ばれて目を覚ましたような気がしたと思う菫。
通学中、莉緒の爪をじっと見つめる菫。
なに？じっと見て、と聞かれてツメ綺麗だよね、と答える菫。
力入れてるけど、マニキュア練習しまくったしオイル塗ってるし、爪の手入れはめんどそーだから今はいいって前に言ってたよね、と言われてそうだけど、と俯く菫。
もしや本格的に恋する準備始める感じ？と言われて、驚く菫にこれ貸したげるよ、とマニキュアを渡された菫はお礼を言った。
まだ来ていない二ノ宮の席を見て、あいさつしてもいいのかなイヤリングのお礼も改めてしたいし、と思う菫。
その時、クラス内で二ノ宮がヤクザみたいなおっさんと歩いていた、ケバい女と歩いてお金のやりとりして怪しかったという噂話を聞いてしまう。
見たものだけを信じよう、と考えていると、二ノ宮が登校してきた。
目が合って挨拶、と思っているとふいっと顔をそらされてしまう。
ショックをうけた菫は、二ノ宮さんにとっては特に何でもない出来事だったよね、としょんぼりするのだった。
桜のジンクス
お昼に誘われた菫は窓の外を見ると、歩いている二ノ宮を発見する。
誘いを断り、二ノ宮の歩いていた場所まで来ると、非常口を発見して扉を開けた。
すると、そこにはお昼を食べている二ノ宮がいて、ドキドキと緊張する菫。
昨日のイヤリングありがとうございましたって言いたくて、お気に入りになりました、と伝えると、わざわざどーも、と答える二ノ宮。
話せた！と喜ぶが、しーんと静まり返ってしまい、どうしようと青ざめていると、そういってもらってよかったけど、なんかすみませんでした、と突然謝る二ノ宮。
え？と戸惑う菫に、あのあと注意されたんスよマスターに、勝手に選んで勝手につけて気持ち悪く思われてんぞって、相手は十代なんだから距離感考えろって、距離感ムズカシイと舌打ちする二ノ宮。
ぽかんとしている菫に、飯くわなくていんスか、あと15分だけど、と言われて、あ！と声をあげる菫。
そのまま、同じ場所でお昼を食べる菫は、何も言われないんだしいいんだよね、と二ノ宮を横目に見る。
いつもここで食べてるのかな、いろいろ聞きたいけど詮索されたくないよね、と思っていると、視線に気づいた二ノ宮がなに？と声をかけてきた。
気まずくなった菫は、後ろの桜がもうすぐ散っちゃうな、と無理やり話題を振る。
桜の花びらっていろんなジンクスありますよね、つまんで息をふきかけて飛ばし地面に落ちる前に願い事を言う、っていうのが中学の時流行ってました、私はやったことなかったけど、と話すとふーん、と相槌を打つ二ノ宮。
興味ないですよね、と肩を落としていると、待っていた桜の花びらを二ノ宮がキャッチした。
タイムリー！と思う菫の前に来た二ノ宮がどーぞ、と桜の花びらを見せる。
吹いて、と言われて私？と驚く菫に、俺は別にいいから、ほら、と花びらを近づけてくる二ノ宮。
私の願い事、と考えながらふっと吹きかけて花びらが落ちたのを見た二ノ宮が、言えた？と聞いてくる。
はい、と返事をすると叶うといいスね、と二ノ宮が微笑んだ。
その笑顔に菫は見とれてしまうのだった。
何も知らないけど
敗者が終わったことを父にメッセージして薬局に寄ろうと歩く菫。
その時、二ノ宮が女の人と腕を組んで歩いているのを見つけてしまう。
女の人は二ノ宮に封筒を渡していて、それを見た菫は立ち尽くしていた。
見たものを信じるって見っちゃったなぁ、と家に帰ってきて思う菫。
とっさに願ったことは二ノ宮さんにもっと近づきたい、だけど無謀だったかな踏み込めるような人じゃないのかも、と泣きそうな顔をする菫だった。
二ノ宮が登校してきて、目が合うと思わずそらしてしまう菫。
今日は話せそうにない、と思う菫。
体育の授業のあと、教室に戻ると財布がないと騒ぐ井ノ脇。
ハッとした井ノ脇はあの人体育に遅れてきたよな？麗央、と言った。
さすがにどーよ、でもロッカーとかに隠してるかもしんなくね？あの人今いねーしちょっとのぞかせてもらうわ、とロッカーに向かう井ノ脇。
菫はロッカーをバンっと叩き、ダメ、勝手に人のロッカー開けちゃだめだよ、二ノ宮さんはそんなことする人じゃないと思う、ときっぱり告げる菫。
その時、井ノ脇の財布が届いてるから職員室に来るように、と校内放送があった。
クラスメイトは白けた顔で井ノ脇を見て、井ノ脇おめーサイテー！あやまれよ、ていうか吉沢さんナイスプレイ、と褒められる菫。
教室の外で会話を聞いていた二ノ宮が入ってきて怯えた井ノ脇がすいませ、と謝るとデコピンをした二ノ宮がドジ、と微笑む。
その顔にクラスメイトが笑ったと驚いた。
恋の始まり
吉沢さんちょっといい？と二ノ宮に言われて、非常口に来た菫にコーヒーチョコパンを渡す二ノ宮。
それ上手いっすよ、食堂の一番人気で限定商品らしいです、お礼これで助けられたの二度目、と話す二ノ宮。
あ、でもお金払います、とポケットを漁る菫にそれじゃお礼にならないと答える二ノ宮。
ポケットからマニキュアが出てきて、マニキュアもいらないけどと戸惑う二ノ宮。
友達から借りてたの入れっぱなしでした、私塗ったことなくて練習してみようかなって、
オレ得意スよ、何度もやらされたんで、見本見せると菫の隣に座る二ノ宮。
マニキュアの説明をしながら菫の人差し指に塗っていく二ノ宮。
吉沢さん、肝が据わってるって言われません？と聞かれて、親友にたまに言われるけどどうしてですか？と聞く菫。
誰かを危険から守ろうとしたりかばおうとしたりあんまとっさにできることじゃないんで、驚きましたかっこいいスね、と二ノ宮。
はい、とりあえず一本分、自分でできそう？と塗ってもらった爪をうっとりと見つめる菫。
あの、好きになってもいいですか？と訊ねる菫。
驚く二ノ宮の顔を見て、え！？と声をあげる菫に、いやこっちのセリフとツッコミをいれる二ノ宮だった。
