笑うさやか
布団で裸体を隠し、不敵に笑うさやかと声も出せないぐらいショックを受けて愕然としている和真。
震える手で脱ぎっぱなしの洋服を掴もうとするが、めまいに襲われて壁に寄りかかってしまう。
待って和真さんと声をかけたさやかが裸のまま、和真を後ろから抱きしめてにんまりと笑った。
和真が触るなと振り払うと、驚くさやか。
青ざめたままの和真がスーツに着替え終えると、ホテル代置いておくから、と扉の近くの椅子にお金を置いて部屋を出ようとした。
その背中に向かって逃げるんだ、と話しかけるさやか。
和真は背を向けたまま、逃げる？と聞き返す。
釈明もなしに出て行こうとしているじゃないとさやかが言うと、君に何かした記憶はないと和真が答えた。
お酒のせいにするつもりなのねとさやかに言われた和真は、自分を襲う頭痛とだるさが本当に酒のせいなのか？と疑問を感じる。
和真はさやかの方を振り向こうとはせず、本当に何も思い出せなくて話は今度にして欲しいと頼んだ。
いいけど、と答えたさやかは責任はとってもらうから絶対と暗い笑顔で和真を見て告げる。
和真はさやかの表情を横目で見て、ゾクっと背筋を冷やし、逃げるように扉の外へ出た。
文とのきまずさ
時刻は11時を過ぎ、電車に乗った和真は文に遅くなるから寝ててとメッセージを送る。
文から了解というメッセージが返ってきて、ホッとした顔の和真。
扉にもたれかかりながら、文とどんな顔で会えばいいかわからない、寝てるといいなと思う和真。
家につき、ただいまと中に入った和真は、寝室の部屋の電気が消えていることに気づき、文が寝ていると安堵する。
服を脱ぎ、洗濯機に無造作に放り込んで洗濯をスタートさせた和真は、浴室に入る。
自分の肩に触れながらさやかが後ろから抱きしめてきた事を思い出し、俯いた和真はそのままシャワーを浴びた。
何も感じない
会社にいる和真はデスクで頭を抱えながら、さやかの一件以来、文に触れても何も感じなくなったと項垂れる。
EDってことはないよなと悩む和真に部長が明日専務と食事をする時間はとれるかい？と話しかけてきた。
専務と？と驚く和真はご一緒するのは構いませんがと応じると、専務が是非という話でねと部長が言い、予定しておいてくれと肩を叩いて立ち去っていった。
夜、指定された店の個室に入ると、立川さとみが同席している事に驚く和真。
立川は姪だと明かした専務が迷惑をかけていないといいが、と笑う。
よくサポートしてもらっていますとにっこり笑いながら、本当は迷惑でしかないんだけどと内心で思う和真。
私の言った通りでしょと拗ねた顔の立川に、悪い悪いと笑いながら謝る専務。
二人の仲睦まじい様子を見て、高梨を思い出してハッとした和真が青ざめる。
専務の姪である立川と何かあったら終わるぞ大丈夫か高梨と心配になる和真。
高梨の心配
熱燗を持った立川が課長一杯どうぞ、と声をかけてくる。
注いでもらった和真は礼を言い、酒を飲んで出された食事に手をつけるも、何を食べても味がしないと思っていた。
お手洗いに行ってきますねと席を立った立川。
専務が和真が来るなら同席したいと立川がわがままを言ってねと話し出す。
ずいぶん信頼されているが、独身だったかな？と聞かれた和真は、2年前に結婚しましたと答えた。
見合い相手にどうかと思っていたんだが、と言われた和真は、若い立川は自分には勿体無いと言いながら、立川との結婚を考えただけで胃が痛くなると思う和真。
既婚者なら間違いは絶対に起こさないでくれよと顔を近づけて凄んで笑う専務に、もちろんですと気圧されながら返事をした和真。
君に限ってその心配はなさそうだな、と笑う専務にお酒を注ぎながら礼を言った和真は高梨を思い出して、高梨はその内専務に殺されるかなと思っていた。
専務、そろそろと部長が話に割って入り、わかってると答えた専務の二人の様子に何か気付く和真。
労災申請
翌日、高梨から専務と部長と飲んだんだって？と声をかけられる和真。
パンの店に来ていた和真は高梨の質問に、いろいろとなと濁す。
パンの焼き立ての匂いを嗅いで香りがいいなと言う和真に、教えてくれないのか気になるなと突っ込んでくる高梨。
和真はたいした話じゃないよと答えながら、昨夜の会話を思い出す。
専務から和田が労災申請を出してきた、と打ち明けられる和真。
和田の不調は家庭内不和が原因だと会社で認識しているが、労基署に目をつけられると面倒だと専務が言い、部長が和田の勤怠や人間関係を調査しましょうと申し出たと話す。
その調査を和真に頼みたい、部長が君なら安心と推すのでな、と言われた和真に部長も業務と並行できるだろうと肩を叩いてきた。
和真は俯きながらはいと答えると、これで決まりだなと言った専務が後は飲むだけだと笑う。
素早く動いた部長が仲居さんにお銚子5本と手を鳴らしながら注文し、お手洗いから戻った立川がお酌しまーすと和真の隣に座る。
和気藹々の部屋の中で和真は、ますますまともな時間に帰れない、問題が山積みだと思っていた。
最悪のハートつきメッセージ
パン屋のイートインコーナーでコーヒーを飲む高梨が、クリスマスプレゼントが来たぞと言った。
なんのことだと聞き返す和真に、さやかと飲んだ時に頼んだ時計だよと答える高梨。
思い出した和真に後で渡すから代金払えよと領収書を渡される。
立て替えてもらってすまん。
と謝る和真に今月は物入りで、金がなくてさ、とどことなく幸せそうな顔で話す高梨。
その時計奥さんにプレゼントしろよ、と和真が言うと、コーヒーを吹き出す高梨。
何動揺してんだよと聞くと、当たり前の事を言われたからだと高梨。
ジーッと高梨を観察しながらそうあって欲しいけどと思う和真。
それより例の店はK大学の近くとかよくね？と話題を変える高梨。
大学生は金があるし、インスタ映えする内装にしてさと言う高梨にそれもアリだなと同意する和真。
内装について話していると、和真のポケットの携帯が震えた。
会社かな？と思いながら見た和真の目が見開かれる。
前に座る高梨がすごい顔してどうした？と聞いてきた。
なんでもないと平静を装って答えるが、カップを持つ和真の手は可哀想なぐらい震えている。
スマホの画面には裸のさやかと、はだけたシャツを着て眠る和真の二人の写真と、クリスマスイブ会ってくれるよね、とハートつきのメッセージがさやかから来ていた。
高梨の会話を聞き流しながら、真っ青のまま俯く和真が最悪だと内心で思っていた。
